Schouten Europe is specialist in the development, production, and packaging of meat substitutes.

Our family business started as a bakery back in 1893. We were then active for years in the trading of raw materials and livestock feeds. Converting these plant-based raw materials into human food is however a much more efficient and sustainable approach to doing things.

We started in 1990 as the first Dutch company to develop meat substitutes based on soya protein. Our director Henk Schouten and his sons Niek-Jan and Wouten developed these products in Giessen.

The products can be delivered both fresh and frozen. Sale under your own brand (private label) or under one of our brands is possible.

We work with European retailers; brand manufacturers of snacks, salads and meals; global fast food chains and all sorts of other parties within the industrial, intermediate, and institutional market.

Our intensive cooperation with specialized production sites enables us to work quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, we are very flexible.
